October and November…
…made about 30 new pieces of wall art, 30 items of jewellery, 15 3-d mosaic pieces
…designed and distributed over 1000 postcards and 200 posters advertising my first solo show
…sent a multitude of emails and forum posts to tell people about it
..worked 12 solid hours setting up the gallery
Five days at the gallery and a Private View later, all I can say is that this experience has exceeded my expectation in every way – visitor numbers (despite the snow!), sales and the amazing feedback and affirmation of people observing my art. I am in awe…
The Private View was wonderful – a great turnout even though the transport was very much affected by the snow and ice.
Many of the refugee young people who helped make the ‘Shards of Hope’ mosaic patchwork came – two of them did a speech about how much the Klevis Kola Foundationhas helped them and how they have enjoyed the mosaic project – it was a highlight for me and I feel honoured to have worked with this wonderful – and vital – community group.
One more week to go, and then a well deserved rest!

I really love those pieces hanging in the window. Gorgeous! The snow really complemented the show. Glad to hear it went so well. I hope you will rest after this and enjoy the season.

well done lady! you are really doing marvellous and wondrous things…. here's to selling ALL your exhibits and a fabulous new year. PS have you heard of Chris Shoulder? I am working in a gallery that has a lot of his work in – he is a mosaic artist too.

I know too how every little (and big) thing starts with a thought, an idea, a mere possibility and that's what's so exciting. It's the same with launching my experimental art e-course this year (a mere idea once) and the MA of course, and now too, I have ideas growing for a larger art project as part of my practice but won't reveal until it's a bit more formulated! 😉
