Do you want to experiment with art…?

Amelia Critchlow original art

Firstly, a big thanks to all of you who commented on the blog and on FB with feedback on the Topps Tree. It is always such an encouragement to get feedback – its really appreciated. I will do a blog post on the process of making this tree in the next couple of weeks…

…but for now…it’s time for  the annual giveaway of a FREE place on my friend, Amelia’s Experimental Art e-course!

Experimental Art E Course

I have done this course and can tell you that it is full of fantastic ideas for experimenting with different mediums of art, all easy to do from the comfort of your home.  The course is great for both beginners and established artists as the whole course is about creating a place for you to play and experiment.

Below  is Amelia’s description. Once you have read this, see below for how you can easily enter to win a free place! And even if you don’t win, why don’t you consider participating and flexing your creative wings? Closing date is Mon 30th Sept, 5pm GMT so dot it now to be in with a chance!

“This course is 9 weeks, with two assignments per week, to journey in to art, play and experimentation at a leisurely pace. On this course we explore a variety of media from drawing, painting & collage, through to guerilla art, in a fun & guided way with a tonne of artists, links and downloadable resources. Intended for those with a creative calling who don’t know where to start, or those who are practicing artists in need of fresh inspiration.

I believe in experimentation and permission to just get ‘stuck in and do’ when it comes to art-making, removing pressure about producing perfect ‘final outcomes’. To find out more, see here, to see what past experimenters have said, see here. And I’m offering one lucky Glittering Shards reader a chance to take part for free!”
HOW TO ENTER THE COMPETITION

You can enter the giveaway for a free place on the Experimental Art Course by doing any of the following two things (which means you can enter two times if you want to!):

1) Like and Share my Glittering Shards Facebook page.  Click here and press “Like” on the top right hand of the FB page then  share the page or any of the posts on your own Facebook (the recent post about the Topps Tree should spread some mosaic inspiration!)

Click on “Comments” under the title of this blog post and let me know what you think!

Closing date is  Monday 30th Sept, 5pm GMT  – so one week to spread the word!!! I will announce the winner in the evening of 30th Sept.

I love doing fused glass and just recently got back in to designing mosaics. Glass has been one of my favorite Art mediums for quite some time. I always enjoy learning how others express themselves through glass! Clay, too! It inspires me to try different techniques as well as objects I might never have considered. Thanks!

Love the beautiful Mosiacs. I also love fall. Feeling it’s time to make time for my art again. Lots of ideas to round up.

  3. Jeri Lynn says:

I’ve not taken an art course before, so I don’t have preconceived notions about what to expect. My hope is to learn some new techniques in a medium other than what I normally work in and get inspired by communing with likeminded people : )

  4. Sian Richards Gill says:

I love art and love to experiment , currently I sew and paint bespoken cushions but would love a chance to be taught and encouraged to try new forms of art. I have bought some mosaic basic starting equipment, and would love to be guided through the process , and again to be inspired to step out of my comfort zone.

  5. Olga says:

I look for inspiration and an opportunity to learn something new! Also to have fun and enjoy the creative process!

  6. Daire says:

The thing I look for in art courses are ideas for using the materials I already have in new ways. I also love finding other creative people to sit and talk glitter with!

I have been teaching myself mosaics, slowly but surely. I am more inspired when I experiment, and you have inspired me! Mostly, I want to build confidence to go all the way through a piece of any art, not give up in dismay when I feel it’s not going the way I thought I wanted it to.

oh right then. What i look for most is inspiration and a community of likemined creatives
