Mosaic is a wonderful, accessible art form, whether you consider yourself ‘good at art’ or not! It is the art of ‘painting with tiles‘ and on a Glittering Shards mosaic workshop you will be introduced to a huge variety of materials – bold, matt, shiny, irridescent and downright unusual – that you can combine to make stunning art. I run weekly classes and workshops in my home studio in South London (SW17) and in the wider community. I also arrange bespoke workshops and one-to-one tuition.

7 week mosaic evening course
Each 7 week mosaic course runs on a Tuesday evening between 8-10pm.
On this course you will learn the basics of mosaic making as well as more advanced techniques. With access to lots of images to inspire your design, you will learn about materials, adhesives, tools, how to cut and lay tiles and glass to achieve movement and flow. As well as lots of tips and tricks you will be challenged and encouraged to take an experimental approach so that the work of mosaic making becomes play.
The cost is £135 plus cost of tiles (supplier details provided and you can purchase tiles from my limited supply too. You can expect to pay about £12 – £20 for your tiles). Standard size bases (20 x 20cm), glues and grouts are provided for free.
The course is run at my home studio, in South London (SW17) and are small in size so that each student gets lots of attention.

Mosaic maker drop-in’s
These are more informal sessions where you can begin, continue of finish a project at whatever stage you are at. You can come every week or as and when suits you! The cost is £14 per session or £60 for a 5 week class pass. The class passes have no expiry date. You provide your own bases, materials, glues etc.. though you have access to my supplies for purchase.
- The daytime weekly drop-in’s run between 10.30am and 12pm, every Tuesday.
- The monthly evening drop-in’s run between 8pm – 9.30pm on the last Wednesday of each month.

Bespoke workshops
Bespoke classes are arranged at mutually convenient time and place and shaped around your goals. This can be simple mosaic craft projects such as picture frames and coasters. We can also arrange a one day workshop or a full, bespoke course covering the basics through to more advanced techniques such as 3d, reverse method and outdoor mosaics. I can provide:
- one-to-one tuition
- one day / weekend workshops for groups of friends (especially fun for celebrating birthdays!)
- family mosaic making (either one day or spread out over a period of time) to create a unique, lasting piece of family art
- workshops for workplace team events
- workshops for festival and arts events
You can make wall art, decorative objects, flower pots, paving stones, mosaic initials or words! The possibilities are endless and costs will vary depending on the event type / number of participants. Please get in touch and I will discuss ideas with you and provide you with a quote.

Furzedown Kite Mosaic Workshop
Become part of the Furzedown Kite Trail! Sat 6th July 3-5pm, Seely Hall, Chillerton Road, SW17
For those of you who are part of the Furzedown community in Tooting, South London, this is your chance to make your own ‘Furzedown Kite’ mosaic to display outside your house (with or without your door number) and help us create a trail around the neighbourhood!
