Take some fairy lights and dark material…
…add some nativity figures…
…some stones and sticks….
….some angels and hand made stars (24 of them to be precise)….
…and some very excited children!
Put them all together and you have created Mary’s walk… 24 stars on the path – one for each day of advent.
Each evening we have a small family reflection and then put a star in the sky. The path gets shorter, Mary moves closer to Bethlehem and before you know it….
It’s Christmas!
I am always looking for ways to expand the heart as Christmas approaches…a little less about spending and a little more about anticipating and making space to consider mystery – something that is bigger than just our individual selves…
If you know of any good, child-friendly resources, do add them to the comments.
Happy preparing!
Hi Concetta!
I like Ann Voskamp @ http://www.aholyexperience.com
She has few good posts on advent as a journey, she wrote book called Unwrapping the Greatest Gift a family celebration of Christmas and has some printable resources on her blog.
