Helped along in its glittery, shiny path by a <em><strong>top mosaic tip<\/strong><\/em> that I have used again and again (see below!).<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-o7qx-jXkmD8\/TfDZCV1zabI\/AAAAAAAAB7k\/IkH2taYItYo\/s1600\/DSC_0705.JPG\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-o7qx-jXkmD8\/TfDZCV1zabI\/AAAAAAAAB7k\/IkH2taYItYo\/s640\/DSC_0705.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"425\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a little one I knocked out as a practice run for a commission for 3 garden dragonflies which I am about to do.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><a style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-KHk-4noLJi0\/TfDZX7Kx3EI\/AAAAAAAAB7o\/IiNg4_Ut3vA\/s1600\/DSC_0706.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-KHk-4noLJi0\/TfDZX7Kx3EI\/AAAAAAAAB7o\/IiNg4_Ut3vA\/s400\/DSC_0706.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"265\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Its not yet grouted so if you look closely, you can see the secret ingredient to make it shine&#8230;see it? Yes, silver foil. Scrunched up silver foil. Scrunch it up, then unravel it and stick it very,<em> very<\/em> well to the base then stick clear stained glass (or clear tiles) and the crinkly shine comes through, giving a wonderful depth to the piece. <strong><em>Top mosaic tip <\/em><\/strong>don&#8217;t you think?<strong><em><\/em><\/strong> I have used this mosaic technique in endless (<em>indoor only<\/em>) pieces over the years and love it (have a scroll through my gallery and see how many you can spot).<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-srirTTYTuYU\/TfDZx9Byd2I\/AAAAAAAAB7s\/8DeKwrPLFec\/s1600\/DSC_0708.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-srirTTYTuYU\/TfDZx9Byd2I\/AAAAAAAAB7s\/8DeKwrPLFec\/s640\/DSC_0708.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"424\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>More work new coming&#8230;I have decided to start several pieces at once &#8211; slow art like mosaics requires more patience than I have sometimes!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;one of my favourite creatures, the ever-magical dragonfly.
