This is a very precious piece, based on a drawing made for me when I was a little girl, by a cousin who meant the world to me.
He died in a tragic accident when I was 12 and his death left a void and much grief…but his life also placed in me a ‘knowing’ about what unconditional love was – something that unbeknown to me then, I would draw on in dark times.
The words he wrote were that I should always remember that he loves me. Thirty two years on, I still hug the memory of his love for that little girl. Nothing is lost or forgotten.
Hi Concetta
Just wanted to say how absolutely beautiful – both your work in progress and the story. Lovely idea to interpret it into a lasting piece of mosaic.
Thanks for showing us,
Tracey
Thanks for your words Tracey – mosaic is such a solid legacy for art especially something as close to the heart as this. x
Lovely to see this almost complete. It’s exquisite. Love the use of the gold. I hope you get to show it to your aunt.
