My latest mosaic commission is finished and flying to their new owners. I have loved working with these colours, combining vitreous goldlink tiles, glitter mosaic tiles, coloured mirror, iridescent nuggets. I get a kick out of combining mosaic materials in just the right way…and was sad to see them go.

I am typing this with black grout under my nails as have been finishing one gigantic ladybird made by the lovely children and parents at the Wandsworth Early Years Centre. Here’s a sneak peak (do excuse him as he hasn’t been polished up yet – and the gaps you see are where we are going to screw him into the wall!)

Next week, grouting more flying mosaics…the dragonfly, butterfly, bumblebee…plus a gentle giant of a snail!
